At Otto & Company we are constantly re-evaluating our best practices. At this time, the Province of Ontario's response framework has established 5 zones (Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, and Grey). In order to protect our appraisers and any property occupants, we have adopted the following procedures:
Green, Yellow, Orange Zones: An internal inspection of the building(s) may be undertaken, but only if the Appraiser and occupant feels it is safe to do so for all parties involved, and our Appraiser will using personal protective equipement PPE. Should interior inspections be deemed inadvisable, owners will be interviewed for building characteristics and be asked to provide photos taken on the day of the interview. Where applicable, the property will still be inspected from the exterior.
Red, Grey Zones: No internal inspection of the building(s) may be undertaken. Owners will be interviewed for building characteristics and be asked to provide photos taken on the day of the interview. The property will still be inspected from the exterior.
